Hi lads, I have on occasions had bottles of wine sent to friends
and family through the post , usually by order from a dealer.
and surprisingly the cost of postage is negligable.
so as a matter of interest if we where sending samples of our brews
to each other via post , has anyone any idea of costs ?
PS. sorry Dogger doesnt mean you , hate to think what postage
to Canada would be .

Using the Australia Post calculator, it looks like it would cost about $8 to send a 500g-1kg parcel.

Dogger, to send it to you it's between $A12.50 (sea mail) and $A18.50 (air mail) for a parcel up to 750g. That's $C11.75 to $C17.40.

So if we were to post bottles to Dogger, the idea would be to bottle em then post em straight away. That way they'd be carbonated from the trip.

Might be an idea if I post mine to myself. That way it'd stop me sampling them to death before they are ready. And with the efficiency of a certain postal service they might even be vintage by the time I get em.

Thanks for that Oliver, as you say its pretty expensive homebrew,
though it may be worth while in special circumstances, for
instance, sending someone proof of that batch they just bottled
that was 9.5 % ?.
Dogger might even pay C.O.D for that one.
