Truly a momentous day

Team,

Today (actually yesterday, but we took a while to write this post  ) we mark a milestone on our forum.

The homebrewandbeer.com forum has now been going for five-and-a-half months. When we started it on July 22, 2004, we never imagined that one day we would pass the number of posts on the Cooper's Brewery message board. But today it happened.

The Cooper's message board may be members only (you have to pay to join the Club), but their 26,036 (yes, 26,036) registered users have posted 2130 articles, for an average of just 0.082 posts per user. And that's since the board began on June 23, 2003, 13 months before we made our debut.

By comparison, our 122 users have posted 2142 articles for an average of 17.5 posts each.

The most users online at a time on our forum is 11. On theirs it's 10.

Only 213 of their members (or 0.82 per cent) have ever posted. Our rate is 71.3 per cent (or 87 users).

I could go on, but I won't.

However, I think you'll agree that on all counts we're winners.

Thanks to all who have contributed to our success.

Happy brewing.

Cheers,

Oliver and Geoff

PS Congratulation to Dogger Dan from Canada, who has made 367 posts, followed way back by Oliver with 219, Evo with 126, grabman with 99, thehipone with 94 and the many other prolific posters who I haven't got room to mention by name here :D

This great forum, had a lack of Canadian content, so I jumped on board. From frigid Alberta, -40 C with the wind chill tonight. Send warmth north please. This is not beer drinking weather, but we manage!!
Hoppy brewing.

Welcome GRAYCREEKER - your celcius temp is exactly 80 degrees different to mine. Actually I think you might be the third to claim Canadian rights (or somesuch) on the board. Again welcome.

My girlfreind who lives with me here in OZ is Canadian she is from Edmonton. I recall an occassion over there it was -36c and i was trying to have a beer out in the backyard but could only manage half a stubbie the other half was a solid block of ice in the bottle :x

We call it ice beer.

Good for you it is, puts hair on your chest

One thing you will find is us Canadians griping about the weather. It s never right.

Although I am with Grab about beer weather
