yeah sounds like a good idea.. pretty much what everyone else has said.

prolly make no difference to me as i am restricted with purchasing places and brands anyway because of where i live.

Altho internet orders may be concidered due to my problem... but i seem to be managing.

Well, it seems that most people are open to the idea of sponsorship.

So that leaves the question of who should sponsor homebrewandbeer.com.

Please have a look at this thread and suggest who you would and wouldn't want to sponsor the site.

Im not sure

If it involves the removal of free speech I am dead against.

The ABC has just had four eyed pickleheaded goon put on its board.

I love the ABC as it gives everyone a fair go, including me

So no if involves moderation!!

Nice work. Is that you in the pics, Rob from Horsham?

I like the use of the term "echo" to describe a stubby.

In fact, I liked it so much I started a new thread!

Here it is: http://www.homebrewandbeer.com/forum/vi ... hp?p=29805

Oliver, another site I am involved with accepts good sponsorship.

What they have is a sponsorship fee, but also something of an incentive for the site. If they get 1,000 hits through to the sponsors site, via the banner ads, they get extra bonus fees. How much that is, I do not know.

Something you may want to negotiate from a sponsor.

Go for it...................................

You guys deserve it.

I would prefer a local company like Coopers to have the major rights as long as it is not restricting what we can discuss.

I think that they would be keen to get on baord given that alot of us are keen on their products and it would be cheap advertising for them.

You also have to think Boonie, incentive is not really there as we already advertise for them in a round a bout way, if you can get em on board then go for it but i think that they would prefer we spoke about coopers and coopers alone!

But i could be wrong, im pretty sure its happened at least once before

Only incorrect once Fonzie? I was wr wr wr.....ong. Even hard to type the word.

Yeah I think you are right. They would like us to discuss different ways of making Coopers Brew only.

But......some incentives for Coopers could be
* Advertising new brews, malts, sugars available. :D
* Discounted Coopers Club memberships, which in turn could turn into profit for them from the sale of hats, t-shirts glasses etc...

I would not like to get discounts on Cans, Malt etc as this would hurt my
local HBS who are very helpful.

Do it and do it quick, I am sure you guys are smart enough to know what will and will not compromise the integrity of the site. You deserve to make a little out of the site to cover your costs at the very very least. It will clearly not really be a money making scheme for the site but any extra generated income will assist I am sure. Having said that, and I am sure you have this in hand, make sure you are aware of all the ins and outs in totallity before making any committment to a third party.
