The Brewing Network- internet radio

Postby fstbttms » Sunday Jun 05, 2005 11:35 pm

The guy who is putting thebrewingnetwork.com together came by our Diablo Order of Zymiracle Enthusiasts (DOZE) meeting last week at B3 to speak to the group about the web site. His name is Justin Crossley, he is a homebrewer and has a background in internet radio. Initially there will be a live, two-hour show on Sundays at 5:00 p.m. Pacific, 8:00 p.m. Eastern featuring Justin, DOZE president Dr. Scott and B3's Jon Plise as hosts. They will have a variety of guests, some of whom include the four owners of B3, John Maier of Rogue Brewing, Homebrewer of the Year Jamil Zainasheff and others. The talk will be about beer and brewing, of course. There will be a call-in line so listeners can ask questions and speak to the guests (and live e-mail response as well), a chat room, a video database of brewing techniques and lots more.

The rest of the programming will be a 24 hour music stream interspersed with brewing tips, trivia, reruns of the live show etc. As the site grows, so will it's programming. It's pretty exciting stuff and this is the first web site of it's kind in the world. So I hope everyone will tune in to http://www.thebrewingnetwork.com on Sunday, June 5th and check it out. Sounds like fun!

Pacific time is like -8 hours GMT? And eastern Australia (ignoring those outposts such as Adelaide and Perth) is +10 hours GMT, making a difference of 18 hours between a 5pm Pacific time cast and down under. By my calculation, that means anyone in .au's east will need to tune in at 11am today (Monday).
Just listening to a very choppy steam now, and it's just musak. Midnight Oil's Beds Are Burning was part of the latest set, mixed in with Smashing Pumpkins and All American Rejects.
