101 uses for a dud brew

Postby anti-fsck » Tuesday Jun 14, 2005 10:28 am

To get this topic rolling, here's my best two:

(i) Snail bait. The slugs and snails don't seem to care too much what they drink. And they get the Saddam Hussein of hangovers.

(ii) Social grenades. When it's time to clear the room of guests, pull out the duds and lob them into the crowd. Look as though you're enjoying it when everyone else is clearly not, pump it up as a session beer, settle back and watch the bail-out excuses roll in.

Assuming the beer is not so bad that its taste is totally repugnant, it could be used in cooking when your finest brews are OTT, such as beer battered fish etc.

Beer in various types of bread.
Beer or Stout in meat pies (a local bakery has won the Aussie Pie Comp a couple of times with their Beef and Beer pie, many Irish look-a-like pubs serve a Guinness pie (outa be a law agin it, wasting Guinness like that!)).

iv just been reading about fruit beers, and there unpopularity is due to the fact that olden day brew houses, used to make dud brews good by adding fruit to mask the unsavory tastes, this leads to fruit beers being a sign of weakness in a brew,

so a good use for dud brews could be fruit beer.

for the ladys... wink wink.
