Not going to take any shit about the 2.8% Pacer, either.

Was going to comment on that. Did it have any taste?

As far as light beers go, it was pretty could. Still suffered from that dreaded thin-bodied taste, though, and after a couple I was seriously ready for a real beer.

Mildura brewery mallee bull. 5.6%. Probably mb's best beer.

How are MB's beers these days? I recall being a little underwhelmed when I tried them a (quite) a few years ago.

I haven't tried them lately, this was the first go at a Mallee Bull for a couple of years I think. They did have a bit of a low spot beer wise a few years ago, but then lifted their game a lot. I guess trying to produce something different in a town full of VB drinkers can sometimes be a challenge.
I guess I will have to go there and have a session to taste their current offerings and report back...

"Beer tonic water"?? More details please. Is it a mix of beer and tonic water? Or do they throw hops in as a botanical when making the tonic?
Most importantly, is it any good?

OK, so it's brewed by Doctor's Orders, a Sydney gypsy brewer. According to the website:
"Tonic is our new release for Summer 2016/17.
Tonic is ambidextrous. You can drink it straight up as a refreshing Summer Witbier with its array of botanicals (orange peel, juniper berries, lemon myrtle, coriander and cinchona bark), or use it as a tonic mixer by adding a shot of your favourite gin. Cucumber garnish optional".
It's pretty good, but I'm really not into the whole beer cocktail thing.

4 Pines pale ale. Kinda malty with a bitter after taste. Nice after a hot day here in sunny Mildura.

Personally rate 4 Pines as one of the best breweries in Australia. Their Kolsch is pretty close to perfection.

Agree that the Kolsch is great. Had a lot of those down the river on a houseboat over new year.

On the 4 Pines theme. Picked up a six pack of there Stout today as I was cooking beef pie for dinner and put a bottle in the casserole mix. Just trying one now and it is awesome.

It appears the beer scene is alive in Japan. I was thinking you'd be drinking Asahi and Sapuro there. Bit like drinking VB and XXXX in Aus.

Gage roads pale ale. Down the river camping and got a slab of this. Pretty nice brew, not unlike my last homebrew.
