Tonight was:

Snowy Mountain Razorback Red Ale - liquid crystal.

BrewDog Zeitgeist Black Lager - not a big fan of lagers or black, roasty things but this is easily the best BrewDog beer I've had (and I've had a few).

James Squire Porter (revisited) - didn't like this in the bottle the first time but had it recently had it on tap at one of their venues and enjoyed it immensely so tried a bottle tonight - yep, still a dud.

My most recent APA - slowly improving. Hope it settles in before the hops start to fade.

Thought I fridged a bottle of an AIPAish thing that is drinking quite well yesterday. Opened it tonight only to find it was a ginger beer. Was pretty disappointed as I've only got some crappy old batch of GB I resigned to the "in case of emergency" pile left. Started drinking it anyway and it turns out it is a bottle of my best GB yet that I thought I'd finished. Can't wait to get under the house tomorrow to see if there are more bottles.

Just opened a 6 month old Coopers Lager made with 700gm dextrose and 20gm Saaz.

Not a bad brew, but I'd definately use more hops next time round. Father in law (who I made the brew for) reckons it is a dry crisp brew, but to me is a tad on the sweet side.

Next time I'll use 20gm Hallertau at 30 mins, 15 mins, 5 mins and flame out.

Yeah, it was a good one this year. Dan's has it in, but you'll probably have to ask to get it.

Lob, I just got back from the States and my tips to seek out are Russian River Pliny the Elder (IIPA), Deschutes Hop Henge Experimental IPA, North Coast Brewing Old Rasputin RIS and Sierra Nevada 30th Anniversary Fritz and Ken's Ale Stout. Almost everything from Bear Republic is pretty good too.

Drinking it now. Aroma is quite promising but taste doesn't deliver for me. Not awful but I won't miss it when it goes.

I've still got monteiths winter from last year- I'm going to finish them off in a few seconds.
Best thing monteiths does- well, maybe the black.

Oh, I've got another US tip for you. Sorry, but it isn't beer related.

Don't eat white-people food.
