30ltr plastic fermenter

Postby JBTREP » Monday Jan 12, 2009 11:47 am

G'day Guys,

Anyone know of a brew shop anywhere in sydney that sells the Fermenters w/airlock by themselves?

I've already got one kit and I'd like to just get another container without having to buy another complete kit.

Cheers

If a homebrew shop can't sell you a fermenter and airlock, something is seriously amiss.

Try any of Country Brewer with locations around the metro area, Daves at North Sydney or Asquith Homebrewing.

Cheers,

I've been thinking about picking up a second fermenter (for racking) too but I think I'll just grab a new Coopers Microbrew kit. That will get me a new fermenter/airlock but also 30 more bottles, ingredients for making a simple Coopers Pale and a spare hydrometer. Last time I was in Big W I think I saw these kits for $80 or so. Not sure how much a simple fermenter & airlock would cost, but I reckon the maths would add up to the whole kit being a better investment.

I doubt getting pet bottles, a white label coopers can and some sugar makes up for the $50 difference. You should be able to get a fermenter with all the tap etc etc for about $30 at a HBS judging by what we pay here in Melbourne.

Buying online is a killer for these though with postage. Better to shop in person.
