I'd quite like to see cider/mead in there too.

Hi Oliver,

Just a thought on the categories, so as not to have too many sections, you could have broader headings i.e

Amber / Golden / Pale Ale
Dark Ale / Porter / Stout
Strong Ale / Belgian / Trappist
Lager / Pilsner
Wheat Beer
Cider / Ginger Beer / Lemonade
Barleywine / Mead / Braggot

Or something like it. I think the contents would be quite manageable even under these broad headings, after all only our best communal recipes will be posted in there.

Cheers,
Pale_Ale

Depends on the way the recipes within the categories are managed. If it is open for any random to post a recipe then I feel the categories would get too cluttered with such a limited number of sub-forums. If however the recipes were limited to the communal favourites than that would be a better way of doing things IMHO. Perhaps the recipes could be posted in the general recipe section and then moved to and locked in the proper category to keep things clean?

I concur.

Also I think Pale_Ale's catergory list is good for covering everything without ending up with eleventy billion subforums

I agree with Ash's and Kevnlis' comments, and that seems to me to be a good way to go.
