Coopers vintage 2008!

Post by chadjaja »

Just picked up my first 6 pack last night at Dans chapel st Pahran. :D

Haven't tried it but was surprised to see them have heaps of it and promoting at a cheap price of $20 a sixer and good carton price.

Has anyone sampled theirs yet??

Will keep my eyes out for that.

I am halfway thru my 99 slab and will then start on the 2000 slab.

I bought a six pack of this the other day. Doc, I think your approach is the go, as the 2008 definitely needs some time to knock off the rough edges. More so the previous years IMO.

Sorry to sound like such an newbie but what do you mean by Vintage 2008 etc?

Is this like a special version of coopers that are supposed to be cellared?

Just curious.

I can't remember the proper style name, but it's a strong English style ale (7.5%). It is limited release and they do recommend cellaring for 1-2 years....

I am really keen to try and get a hold of some of this vintage 2008 coopers.

Can anyone suggest a good place to go that will probably have them in the Inner-West, Sydney?

Looked at a few bottle-o's around my place but no joy yet.

Cheers,

Matt

I cracked a couple of '06's the other night and they went down nicely.

Now a strange question: Does anyone have a reaction to the yeast in the Vintage? My tongue swelled up after drinking it, and it's not the first time it has happened with Vintage (only Vintage, never with other Coopers or other bottle conditioned brews). It's quite annoying because you end up talking like Jamie Oliver.

Perhaps one for the Doc to answer....

Cheers,

Tim
