Turns out that my reasons aren't good enough. Already been knocked back for one of the three degrees I've applied for and placings aren't usually announced until late Jan. Not looking good.
Not really the right thread for this (since I'm quite happy about it) but just to bookend what I've already discussed - I just found out I've been provisionally accepted into my second choice uni for an IT degree next year. I know there's nothing terribly exciting about the industry but I'm pretty stoked to be getting out of the trenches and the mud.

On ya' Bum.
There is only one person in each of our lives who can make an effort to change our circumstances & provide a better future.
Some choose to just sit there & whinge!
Good to see!!

OK boys, let's try and be nice, please.

Don't forget it's very easy for written comments to be taken seriously when then were meant in jest.

Can we all play nicely?

Cheers,

Oliver

OK Oliver,

I'll just do my best to ignore and not feed the troll.

Wiki wrote: In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[2] In addition to the offending poster, the noun troll can also refer to the provocative message itself, as in "that was an excellent troll you posted". While the term troll and its associated action trolling are primarily associated with Internet discourse, media attention in recent years has made such labels highly subjective, with trolling being used to describe intentionally provocative actions outside of an online context. For example, recent media accounts have used the term troll to describe "a person who defaces internet tribute sites with the aim of causing grief to families."[3][4]

I think maybe I'll head this discussion off at the pass.
