Kegerator Broken :(

The ins and outs of putting your beer into kegs.

Kegerator Broken :(

Postby BadSeed » Tuesday Jan 25, 2011 1:50 pm

Displaying EE on the led screen and beeping continually.
It is only a couple of years old.

The shop I got it from is gone and the only marks on it indicate that it is a Beer Fridge BF-163 not even the name of the manufacturer.
The buttons on the console are completely unresponsive too. :(
Sad day.

Switch it off and let it sit for a few minutes then turn it back on, Hopefully this helps but if not then your only option is to find someone who either knows electrics and/or fridges!!
Cheers

Ok, panic over it appears fixed.

I tried the leave it off for a while method but to no avail.

So I called Brewcraft to ask them if they knew the problem and where in WA I could get it fixed.
They told me that they would fix it for $150, I asked for where I could get the parts and they said they had them.

It was possibly the switch panel on the front or the pcb/power unit behind that.
So I bought both and replaced both for $92.

Life is good again.

Thanks for the offer mate, but I binned them and they are now under a couple of hundred prawn shells and half eaten sausages. :D

One of the chips on the PCB looked a bit black on one of the legs, maybe a bad solder.

Hey badseed,

How have you found your kegerator, did you get it from craftbrewer or kegking?

Do you find it cools the beer to the temp displayed?

Mate, sorry I have not responded to this until now. I have been off the radar for a while.

Anyway, I bought mine from an independent HB store which is now shut down but it is identical to the ones they sell in CraftBrewer.
I have never had a problem with temperature, or never noticed it, I keep it at 4 degrees (by the indicator) and it seems to be about that temp when I drink it.
