Re: What are you drinking now?
Cooper's Lager with BE 1 and Ross's Swiss Lager Yeast. New job with many hours has resulted in a backstep from Ag to the K&K. Not Happy, but will be looking for some killer K&K recipes.

There is always a way Hirns, sleep is overated. I have started to mash in as late as 8 pm on some nights, even with work the next day. (work seven days a week for 4 months of the year) No chill has helped that a bit, even if i don't like it.
Back OT, drinking my EIPA tonight, no commercial or craft beers for me, too poor
Cheers

Re: What are you drinking now?
My most recent batch: some noble, English, US, and New World hops (cube additions only), Crisp MO, JW Trad Ale and Cararye, Wy1028. Bit of a strange one in some ways (which is fine, clearly my intention) and one of my best in others. First time I've used Cararye (and never used the real deal) and I don't think I dig it but even then I can't stop drinking the stuff once I start - every session has gone at least one longie longer than intended (which is a very rare occurrence around my house).

Cool. Glad you enjoyed it. The haze is to be expected in a hefeweizen.billybushcook wrote:I'll post this here because it what's I'm drink'n right now, but it Sorta belongs in the HB&B Lotto Thread.

Re: What are you drinking now?
Having a quick schooner of my most recent ginger beer whilst the wife is off visiting the in-laws (and who says having the flu is bad?)
A lot of spice and quite a bit sweeter than my last attempts, but it has sure cleared my blocked nose and sinus. I should market this stuff as a head-cold remedy!

Re: What are you drinking now?
Just got back from my brother-in-law-to-be's bucks party where they had stock of LCPA. Not much of a fan of strip clubs, personally, and the price-tag of $10.50 per stubbie just further reinforced that. But still, even at that price, much better option than the other beers on offer.
Now I'm home with the wife and a beer of my own creation and wondering why I even bothered with heading into town in the first place.

Re: What are you drinking now?
Am having a dry spell. SWMBO said, "You are drinking too much." (An obvious untruth....) "You couldn't go a week without a beer." So I replied, "How about if I go for the whole of April?"
It hasn't been too hard. But I am kind of looking forward to May....

Re: What are you drinking now?
I'm drinking the 2nd edition of my home brewed AIPA. What else can I say but, 'it's awesome'. Not as full bodied as edition 1 as I dropped the mash temp just a little bit. Magnum for bittering and Cascade to 60 IBU. Next cab off the rank in a cascade with drsmurto chinook flower APA. Can't wait for that either.
Cheers

Re: What are you drinking now?
Dave, you must have made that commitment whilst " drinking too much " cause no sane, sober person would.

A barrel a day keeps the doctor away. Drink more piss.
Re: What are you drinking now?
Bah. I figure I can chuck this out as a future bone of contention; "My dear, I like a beer but I don't need it. The National Health & Medical Research Council says I should drink this...."
Admittedly, I was feeling a little bloody-minded when I said it.... Can't imagine making such a rash decision in February when the throat is so dry.

Re: What are you drinking now?
Just blew the keg of an experimental ESB that I made (all American hops but my normal ESB grist) so now I'm having a quick GB before pouring myself a cider.
Haven't done a 'research' night in a few months so I may have to get SWMBO to chauffeur me down to DM's when she gets in. Feeling like trying new things.

Re: What are you drinking now?
Got stuck on the cider so no 'research' night for me. Sonny, if you're reading this, the cider dropped both perfectly clear and bright. I can read this forum through my glass from my couch (may have zoomed in a touch, but the point is still valid.)
At about 6%, I'm on my way to not knowing my arse from my elbow, so I'll promptly jump offline. Lovely stuff, though. Just Aldi juice and US-05 (so it doesn't attenuate too much and suck all of the sweetness out of it.) Not as complex as my Normandy style ciders (where I add tannic acid & various other additives) but I'm liking it because of that. Nice and simple.
