Toowoomba is a bit of a step down from the whitsundays mate whats the story? I lived in toowoomba when I was a teenager only lasted 12 months Heading up to maryborough and bundy next weekend to see family
Better get youself a ute with about 8 aerials that don't seem to serve any purpose, 24 indicator lights down the sides, bundy and bulls skull stickers and a big f*** off 5 post bullbar so you can fit in with the locals
Had Barls belgian on the weekend. Very nice, poured dark brown with a good head which dissapated after a while. Very rich, balanced flavour for a high alc beer. Can't remember too much after that, ha ha.
Also had emnpaul's dry cider. Quite a nice one, my wife commented that it tasted much fresher than my berri juice attempts. Would you care to share you recipe?

The whitsundays is nice for a holiday but when you live here its unfortunately not all beaches and boats. For half the year its raining, stinking hot and humid. We were looking for somewhere a bit bigger and we have friends and family in Toowoomba, now that we have kids we want to be a bit closer to family. The last couple of years have been quite hard with no support of that kind. A lot of the friends that we made up here have moved away as its that sort of place.
On the brewing side there's quite a few brewers in Toowoomba and of course The Spotted Cow.

There's some of them around here as well. Before we lived in the whitsundays we were at Clermont near Emerald and there were heaps there too. Leads me to beleive they're everywhere.

We've got 'em in Mildura as well. So your probably right Earle.
They're generally not uncommon in areas where you can say "B & S ball" and people will know what you're talking about instead of thinking you're into some sort of sado-masochistic testicle torture.
Being a city boy of bush origins, I've had to correct people's false assumptions on that one more than once...

im not surprised mate, its about 10%. sounds like you enjoyed it. might have to open a bottle myself on the weekend. happy to share the recipe if you want.
its not as good as the first batch i think this was ether the second or third. mainly because we were drinking when brewing and forgot things.
actually talking about doing a barrel aged version of this before we turn it in to a lambic barrel.

Sorry, this was philsbrew's cider.
Had philbrews' Belgain White last night. Poured deep golden brown with a white fluffy head. Rich spicy taste with a bit of tartness as well to help balance out the flavour. 11% so was glad it was a 375ml bottle on a "school" night. Very nice. I think the yeast played a major role here, but as it was a "white" is there some spice as well? Cheers
I think that means I've sampled all the beers I have received so far. I think there's a couple to come. Moving in 3 weeks so when you're ready PM me for the new address. Cheers
Earle, you have a choice of my first two Braumeister beers.

The second is on the slightly sweet side IMO, but both were described by a colleague with whom I swapped some cider as better than any brew he's ever made.
Let me know and I'll get it off to you ASAP.
Apologies about the delay, but I've felt that nothing until now has been worth!
I'm pretty p'ed off with myself as I was too eager and opened your bottle after only a couple of days in the fridge Oliver. After all, after waiting a year and a bit, what is a few more days. Needless to say it was quite murky, mainly due to my impatience I suspect but does the rye contribute to this as well. Anyway I still drank it and tried to factor out the problem that I had caused and reached the conclusion it was quite a nice beer. Sorry I can't offer a proper review. I'm think you sent out a few bottles of this so I'm keen to read a proper review by a non-idiot.
