Aaaaaah, yeah, interesting Grabman. One of my mates is a fridgey as well and I ran the same question past him. He said he couldn't see any reason why it would hurt the compressor. The original thought was that with the compressor stopping and starting it might wear out quicker, but even if it was operating as a freezer it would be stopping and starting about the same amount, just maintaining a lower temp.
I'd be interested in why your mate said this. Maybe it's something we overlooked. That said, yeah, both my converted freezers are running sweet. I accidently drilled a hole through the coil of one while putting a CO2 line into it, so yeah, it wasn't working for a while. Thanks to having a mate who is a fridgey, it's now working again, no problems. How you doin Jase ? Love your work mate
