Setting up a Microbrewery
Hi There,
Does anyone have any idea how much it may cost to set up a microbrewery?
Not so much for the land and buildings but more the brewing items needed.
Any links to websites that can help or any other ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks very much
Shaun

There's a milk factory here that will be demolished soon. Mmm, stainless steel and heat exchangers ...

I was about to make my own post on this very topic. Any kind of help, particularly on the costs involved, licencing and such, would be greatly appreciated.shaun.jarvis wrote:Hi There,

Found this site a couple of days ago on another forum. Not sure how much it would cost to ship second hand equipment over from the US, but it might give you some ideas.

If it helps, I read somewhere years ago that to run a micro brewery at a decent enough profit to make it worthwhile you would need a 7BB. (Seven Barrel Brewery.)
If any of this helps you on your way, then I'll be expecting a case of the finished product.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Bruiser, that is great to get some more ideas. Any information we can get at this stage is a great help.
I see you put 7BB (barrel brewery) this makes a lot of sense but on the website it says 30BBL. I have seen this before and couldn't work out what the L stood for. Now I Know what the BB stands for do you know what the L stands for.
How many litres are in one of these Barrels and how often are you able to get a good brew from these.
the more help we get the more cases will be shipped. LOL
Thanks for the help mate
