I drink Scotch, Irish and Canadian Whiskey (Not bourbon, got drunk on it way too much underage that the smells makes me feel sick) Since my girlfriend has a cocktail bar, I've had a chance to drink many different liqueurs most of which are pretty nice.

Has anyone here tried Australian Whiskey? I think there is a place in Tasmania that makes some.

An urban myth..............

If you brew with a simple sugar/water mix for distillation later on, you won't get any methanol in your distillate. It's only when you start brewing with fruit, grain etc that methanol is produced.

In the event that your wash had a high methanol content, it's a pretty easy to remove; a year 9 science student could pull off a simple fractional distillation

I've tried that Rare Breed stuff...damn good drop!!![

I get 2 bottles a month for $45 a bottle from Perth duty free to drink at home in my month off. I get another 2 a month at Dubai duty free for US$28, then get another 2 from Abu Dhabi duty free for US$30............ 4 bottles for 4 weeks at work

I'll never touch Jim Beam again., but 'old Jack is still a nice drop

could be worse Yardie.. on a recent trip across nsw into sa we bought many a litre over $1.25.. the highest we found was $1.46 in wilcania

I grew up close to the rutherglen wine region so i drink wine too. I have about 7 dozen bottles in the cellar (under the stairs) and some of these are >10 years old.

I was almost a well head geologist laying horizontal wells and then my Missus got a job as a head nurse. I took a secondary job as an online QA for a food Manufacturer. Funny how life goes.

Most of the folks I know are working for Gulf or what was Gulf, guess it is Coneco now.
