Cooper Mexican Cerveza
Cooper Mexican Cerveza
Has anyone else made this one as yet??
Tapped a keg last night and was quite impressed, very light brew with subtle hints of spice and banana. Great on a hot day!
I used a tin of Coopers Wheat Malt and the kit yeast made up to 21L and brewed in fridge. As yeast is a combination of ale and lager strains, apparently, I started this one at 22C for three days and then dropped it to 16C for next 4 days. Racked straight into keg and forced carbed.
It's not perfect, but very drinkable. Having a BBQ tonight I'm sure the boys will hop into it!

it's all there above, this was just a simple kit and tin job to see what base kit is like before I start playing with it. I like to make a basiuc version of a kit before I add to it so I've got a reference point to work from.
This was simple Coopers Cerveza tin, Coopers Wheat Extract Tin in 2 L boiling water to mix, top up to 21 L and placed in fridge. When temp was 22 pitched rehydrated kit yeast, then after 3 days lowered temp to 16C for 4 days.
OG: 1.050
FG: 1.018 ( sat at this for two days so I kegged it)
Next time will play with different yeast and maybe other extras.

well had the BBQ last night, feeling a little fuzzy this morning
The keg of cerveza is gone, the boys took a liking to it and cleaned it up quickly, they turned their attention to the Coopers Bavarian in other keg, they gave that a good shot as well!
so must be on the right track!.

Hey guys,
just adding my impressions of the Coopers Mexican.
I made it with the BE2 and Wyeast 2124, fermented at 12 degrees. Tried it last week and it was still green (3 weeks in bottle) but just cracked one open and it's quite a nice beer.
Should go down real easy on a hot day...also on a cold rainy day like today...not bad at all
