JaCk_SpArRoW wrote:A quick question in relation to yeasties....Im in the process of getting stuff together to do the JSAA clone & wondered if you guys would recommend using Safale yeast rehydrated & pitched or go with a liquid yeast...only reason I ask is the significant difference in price & the convenience of yeast in a satchel rather than the smack pack.....any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated...cheers.
The answer to this question lies in how closely you want the beer to resemble JSAA. If you are happy to get close but with noticeable differences use the SAFALE if you want to be very close use liquid yeast. To get more out of our money from the liquid yeast make a starter and step it up in size then split it this will give you about 6 lots of yeast that you can use bring the cost of the liquid yeast down.

Instructions on how to do this is here http://www.countrybrewer.com.au/webcontent26.htm

Not sure which yeast you need for a JSAA sorry
