What percentage of the population are into home brewing?

Post by Koornang »

Hello all,
I was just wondering how many people are into home brewing?

Is it just men? Are there many women out there?

Does anyone know if anyone has any real figures on this?

Cheers

Weeeeeeell, there are other brewing sites on the web, so I'd guess the answer may be surprising. I'm NOT going to suggest the Aust Bureau Of Stats add it as a question in the next census. TAXATION, TAXATION.

Koornang,

I know a few.

* You in Melbourne.
* Me in Melbourne.
* Geoff in Jan Juc (Victoria).
* Three colleagues in Melbourne.
* Bruce in Perth.
* Gavan in Melbourne, who's also got his brother into it.
* My wife's cousin Chris in Melbourne.
* My cousin Tristan in Melbourne.
* And probably a few more who escape me at the moment.

Cheers,

Grab,

Don't tell anyone, the government may be listening and then the buggers will want to tax it or excise it.

I don't know no homebrewers :wink:

A Sydney Morning Herald article a few years ago quoted 300,000 homebrewers in Australia, or a little over 1% of the population, but didn't mention where or how they obtained that figure so its just as likely to have been made up. And as we all know, 76.89% of all statistics are made up :lol:
