Cold Secondary

Post by J D Kipper »

I know this has been asked before; but i don't remember any definit conclusion.

I just bottled a brew and stored it in my icy cold shed. Will the yeast settle enough to become unavailable to priming sugar before secondary fermentation is complte ?

I'm talking a seriously cold shed here. Just copped 12 sub-zero nights in succession.

I think they become dormant if the temperature is too cold, but they dont die so you can just give the bottle a shake and put it in a warmer place.

There will be no problem with the yeast. Leave it sit, then bottle. Your yeast will do the rest.
