Guinness Draft (cans) - should I be underwhelmed?

The good, the bad and the ugly of commercial beer and breweries, including microbreweries and craft breweries.

Hehe, well I'll bite.

The only good thing about Guiness is the nitrogen-supported head. And the fact the Extra Stout is like a meal. But it's only really good on tap, and half of it is the fact that it's a special treat. As for the stuff brewed by CUB in the bottle, it's supremely disappointing. :x

I agree about the Coopers Best Extra Stout. :)

If I had the choice between a Cooper's Best Extra Stout and any type of Guinness, I'd choose the Cooper's every time.

And I'd choose the non-widget bottled Guinness every time over a widget can or bottle, or it on tap.

Heresy, I know, but I just think that Guinness is a victory of marketing over substance.

I agree

No shouting here  Must be your shout Oliver :D
A homebrew is like a fart, only the brewer thinks it's great.

From what I have heard, Guinness has 52 different versions of there beer across the world. So it would taste different in austrailia, than in South Africa, than Canada, than Ireland. I cannot confirm this because I heard this on the grapevine, but I know I like it a hell of a lot more on tap, than in the botle or can.

As I understand it it's brewed here, except maybe the glass.

At any rate I like it out of the tap here.

If you think Guinness in a can is dissappointing compared to on tap, try a can of Kilkenny. Foul, especially considering I love it out of the tap.

I agree. I can't drink Kilkenny out of the can, it is just bizarre.

yeah thirded.
guiness aint a treat at the local, 5.50 pints aint bad. and its on tap, so it is quite often sitting in front of yours truly.

though i will admit, i would choose coopers best extra any day, which would surprise a great many of my mates.
