Exactly.
Even in the non-hooligan section of the Southern Stand that I was in there was one guy throwing a couple of empty coke bottles around. Police and security were onto him very quickly. They had an officer near the stairs there within about two minutes, and another two ther after about 5-10 mins to escort him out of the stadium.
Good thing too, people were getting hit on the head.
Even the authorities in charge have admitted that the wave is "a bit of harmless fun." Perhaps allocated seating for the whole stadium would solve this. They do this in Italy for the soccer: if you're spotted causing trouble on camera (which is pretty easy to do), you get fined the next day.
That said, allocated seating would pi55 off a lot of customers that weren't causing trouble.
... Now the beer quality and prices at the cricket ... THERE'S something that should be outlawed! $5.40 for a cheap plastic cup of Carlton Mid. It's stout in coke bottles for me next year!
