How does this sound?

Post by gazpachos0up »

Just making a cheap quick ale,

Coopers Real Ale can
400g golden promise ale grain steeped for about an hour (thermos)
1kg Dextrose
10g Fuggles hops added for 30mins
5g added at the end for aroma
(I know 15g isn't much but its the end of a packet)
Standard yeast but rehydrated...

Does any of this go together?
anything else i should maybe add?

A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it's better to be thoroughly sure

Sounds pretty good. Although I'd add the 10g of hops a bit later to get more flavour. The real ale can is bitter enough IMO.

Not a freat lover of the real ale. I'd have gone for a Pale instead.

But, apart from that it looks OK.....btw are you using 5gm as in recipe or 15gm as stated. I'd go with 15.

What's golden promise ale grain? Is it a base malt or a specialty? If it's a base malt you'll need to do a mini-mash.
