Priming and trying to make sure it's correct

Post by andyzed »

I have searched heaps on here and i know this topic has been flogged but i keep getting slightly confused and can't find something definitely clear on it. I'm due to bottle my batch of corona style beer into longnecks. I want to do it today and can't bulk prime due to a broken down car and cranky has the other one, so i can't go and get tube etc.

Having searched alot on here it seems to be general consensus that 1 tsp seems to be about right for longnecks. That i have no problem with. Now to the crux of the question. I have a set of proper measuring spoons so do i use one LEVELLED off tsp. When i read on here that people use a tsp i don't know whether it is a levelled off one or whether it is a heaped one or whether i should really give a shit either way.

Due to my inexperience i'm not sure how touchy getting the correct measurement is. i.e will it make a big difference if it's heaped or levelled etc. I'm thinking it probably will cos it's a big %age difference in such a small amount

Btw i'll be using dex.

Dunno if i'm being overly pedantic but any feedback would help.

Thanks for any help

Yep, 1 tsp is about 6 grams, which is what you want for "high" carbonation.

Oh, and it's leveled, not heaped. :)
