Brewing in the lake

Ok, so a while ago, thanks to some brainstorming on this very board, I convinced my old lady (mother, mum, mom) that giving my old man my other brew fridge (freezer) was a good idea. Thing is, the past 3 months have been pretty warm. Too warm to brew naturally (without temp control), so in order for my old man to become self sufficient in beer over these hotter months, he'd need two fridges. One to brew in, one to serve from. My old lady would never go for this.

So here's where my little mind started working. Using the rotated block of ice thing might work, but it's a bit of a pain in the %^$. And sure, there are other methods, but all of em are as above. Here's what I thought. They live right next to a lake (it was a tidal river but now the inlet to the ocean is blocked). If he was to brew his beers in carboys immersed in the lake, he should be able to keep a fairly constant temp of around 23 degrees (for now). Of course it'd need some engineering, but he's good with stuff like that.

So what do you folk reckon ? Doable or not ?

Would be ideal for keeping a constant temp., but hard not to disturb the yeast cake when you move them.
Maybe a pump setup to get water from the lake, thru a tub/bath then back to the lake.

Cobber, a fortnight or so ago kmart had a sale of 15% off every thing (means dextrose is about 2.25 a kilo, so you can stock up) and I picked up a 65L "Tuff Crate" for a few bob over $5, my rent includes electricity so I chucked my fermenter in this and just put in frozen juice bottles or cold water to keep temp where I need it and can now keep it inside, gets me back to my roots of the original bedroom alchemist brewing in my cupboard in grade 9 (not that I am still in grade 9 at 20 but I now still go to sleep with the sound of bubles), I got a crate for inside as I was brewing in those old concrete laundry tubs outside and sometimes some animals think it is funny to crawl on the fermenter and knock the airlock off or shit and piss on the fermenter, this is about as funny as a burning orphanage. This could quite possible be easier then risking it in a lake as I know if I went fishing and stumbled on a fermenter I would consult my fishing book, make sure there was no limit on fermenters, or on checking other peoples fermenters and promptly help myself to a gallon or two from the tap, fully fermented or not god gifted us with an iron stomach and an apetite for grog and I don't want to dissapoint, I do have the decency to leave some but other may not.

Being no stranger to the sport of outside brewing and distilling, there maybe no limit, but lead is a great persuader.

Well what can I say. Certainly a few issues raised that I didn't think about. Like dubious characters in canoes equipped with long straws.

It's all good though. Maybe he could put in a dummy keg filled with something horrible like Carlton Cold. That'd be enough to deter anyone.
