This for anyone thinking of buying one of the shelving units from supercheap dont! the one i had just bloody colapsed lost around 40 beers
got off pretty lightly considering I had around 270 on it still pissed off but

1 gallon of beer weighs about 10 lbs, a batch of beer weighs 50 lbs, 6.75 batches weighs 337.5 lbs give or take.

Even if I stood on it it wouldn't have been an indicator for 270 brews.

Well each shelf was supposed to hold 60 kgs 5 shelfs at 54 stubbies per
shelf wouldnt have thought this was over 60 kgs a shelf

Pre-empting Dogger, there are 52 gallons in a hogshead. Dogger would probably have got it wrong anyway, as I think they are imperial, not US, gallons.
Of course, the much more interesting measure for beer is the firkin (9 gallons) :-)As in, "Anyone got a firkin (of) beer?"

I have a little book called Pocket Ref and it has conversions for just about everything. It says 220 L for a Homer however, I can't confirm it so 378 is cool to.

I am impressed you took the time to look it up, most mortals don't even listen to me.

we are always serious here chum, nothing is to small to be considered frivolus, I am sure we can even find numbers on how gravity affects air pressure and hence the boiling point of the wort.

I was in supercheap today and was looking at the shelving units.

Might just have to make something myself.
