Softdrink
Softdrink
I know most of you might think that i am silly, but i am going to ask the question anyway. Does anyone have any recipes for alcoholic softdrink. After all you have to keep the women happy to.
I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.
Simple Hard Ginger Beer
1kg Coopers brewing sugar or plain table sugar
500g LDME
1 can coopers ginger beer
kit yeast
boil up the sugars, add to fermenter with some water, add can, swirl, top up to 20L, add yeast.
Alcoholic Raspberry Lemonade
Ingredients:
* 3kg lemons
* 700g frozen raspberries, thawed
* 2kg sucrose (because we don't have to worry about the fruity aftertaste!)
* 1kg lactose
* 5g yeast nutrient
* Lavlin EC-1118 yeast
Method:Make yeast starter out of some sucrose, the yeast nutrient and the yeast, using well aerated water.
Wash and juice lemons, grate rind off half skins, the other half of the skins chop up. Add lemon juice, skins and raspberries (mashed) to 2L water. Boil for 20 minutes. Strain into fermenter, add sugars, make up to 20L.
This is a lot more work than a beer, primarily because of the preparation that the lemons need, with the grating of the rind and the juicing.
3kg lemons = 20 lemons = 1.2L juice.

w00t!
Rob, how did this turn out? Always up for something other than beer on tap in the bar and i like to keep people on their toes. The ginger beer doesn't quite have the same wow factor it used to (altho mates still ask for it).rwh wrote:
