first time kegger need help

Post by cc4848 »

just force carbed my first keg, the problem is that it is full of froth and very flat under the froth. My method was to transfer from fermenter to keg, connect gas at 350kpa and put in fridge with bottle left on at 350kpa. 24 hrs later reduced pressure and all i get is froth. have tried pressures from 10 kpa to 100 kpa but get the same result.

have i overcarbed?

if so any suggestions to fix.

It should be fine, maybe try burping the keg to a very low preasure and then raising back to pouring preasure, also is your tap pouring or squirting, this can effect it too.

Your tap always needs to be fully on to pour. Otherwise is sprays, which gives a jug full of icecream.

Is kegged beer nicer than its bottled counterpart? does it make you drink more beer?

I don't bottle much now I keg, but I do have a BIG problem with evaporation with my kegs. It has to evaporate cause I can't be drinkling that much!
