Electric brew belt warmer on special kmart

Post by gmax »

G'day all i picked up an electric brew belt warmer today at kmart for $29 on special, it says maintains heat for up 26'C
I know my brew i'v just done about 20 mins ago needs to be around 18'C for nice dark ale, with the dark and light malt i boiled first in my brew saucepan

but the brew warmer should be good when i try a
draught brew next weekend
cheers

gmax,

In the opinion of most on this forum (including me), no brew should be brewed above 22C. For ale yeasts, you'd probably be advised to keep it around 18C-20C, and around 12C-15C for lagers.

The higher above this range you go, the more undesirable flavors the yeast may produce.

If you do a search you'll find much discussion on this topic.
