Every year in the United States they have the national college basketball championship playoffs, fondly called 'March Madness'. Well, Brewing News took the concept into the beer realm with the U.S. National IPA Championships. I'm backing the Lost Coast Indica IPA & the Deschutes Inversion IPA because I've had them & I know them to be good. I've had the Lagunitas IPA too, but for some reason didn't care so much for it. Maybe the keg was getting old.... Anyway, the rest I would love to try...
Round one is passed and they are down to the "Sweet Sixteen". After round 2 on March 1st, they will be down to the "Great Eight", and after round 3 on March 5th they will be down to the "Final Four". The winners of this round will go "head-to-head" in the final championship round on March 8th.
The U.S. National IPA Championships!
Re: The U.S. National IPA Championships!
If IIPA's are allowed than Three Floyd's "Dreadnaught" has my vote!
Re: The U.S. National IPA Championships!
Apparently they selected the 32 IPA's by random and placed them in the brackets in the order they were drawn.
And my last contender, Lost Coast Indica was eliminated by Green Flash.... grrrr.....
The final four are Green Flash IPA vs No. 7139 IPA, and Flower Power vs Two Hearted Ale, and the championship round will be on March 8th.
And the winner is Green Flash IPA. I feel better knowing one of my favourites went down to the overall winner.
