Ok, now, did anyone on this forum win the $58 000 000 in Powerball tonight??

If you did(there was 1 winner :( :( ), you are obviously set.. You would have $14 340 a day to spend just living off your interest..

Would you still home brew??????????

Aye, and there's the rub.
If you build yourself what is basically a microbrewwery, it will turn into work, and all your old and new mates will expect free beer.
And if you think looking after $58 mil is not work, you have another think coming. There are plenty of smart operators out there who will look after your money, but often they will do better out of it than you.
And all your relatives, and anyone who has ever called him/herself your friend, will expect your assistance to help pay off their mortgage, plastic etc etc etc. That's not to mention all the oodles of charities who will all present a pressing case to relieve you of a large part of your fortune.
All right, you try to keep it quiet. However, everyone who has ever known you will wonder why you chucked in your job, upgraded your house to one costing 8 times what your old one did, and how come you now drive a Porsche.
So, you decide to look after the money yourself, but then you have just acquired yourself a full time investment managers job.
Don't give me $58 mil. I have enough trouble looking after $2 or 3 mil as it is.
Have a nice day. :D :D

I think I’d still defiantly brew my own.
however.
There would be a brewery in the alps I’d get started, and research and development for this brewery would exist in Melbourne, at my home address. The ability to make beer with no limit on how much it could cost would be incredible. Think of having access to every hop, grain, yeast and expertise in the world to help you make that perfect beer.
Keeping it quite wouldnt be too hard, just dont let it change who u are too much.
Got Malt?

You could homebrew as a full time job, with a well-paid assistant that has a brewing degree. And 40 acres of gain and hops.

I think i would just move to germany and drink all day... but a fully automated 500L brewery in the back shed would be gurd too....

Flogging the head brewer probably will not get you the best beer... try a course at UC Davis and build your own brewery ;)
