Best Selection of Beers In Brisbane

Been to a good pub, or bad, lately? Found a bar with a great selection of beer? Looking for a new local or somewhere to visit on holidays?

Now with the Brewhouse closed, the Platform is likely the best place to enjoy some good beer.
Had a YippY IPA, Sebastian Reserve, & a Dogbolter the other day. Can't judge this place by its website.

They actually took that old beer list off the website. I think the URL changed as well.

Here's a good Courier Mail article on the Grand Central Platform.

Update of Tap Beers for Platform:

Alpha Pale Ale
Fat Yak Pale Ale
Hoegaarden
Dog Bolter
Little Creatures Bright Ale
A few James Squires

Can't remember the rest.

Just off there for lunch now!!!

Has anyone in Brisbane heard where the Brewhouse is going to be relocated?

As far as I can tell there hasn't been any news on it. Nothing on the website and I'm on their mailing list. The second I find out I'll be broadcasting it around the nation :p

The last I heard was a possible location in Sandgate fell through due to it being bid up too high. Could be tough to get a good city location, and places farther out seem to be out of thweir price range as well. Hopefully soon. In th emeantime, take a trip to Mt Tamborine!

Yeh, I have my doubts about them finding a place in the city, there isn't exactly an abundance of space. I'm just hoping that wherever they setup won't be too far away from my place. The corner of my street would be ideal. 8)

Yeah, there is an abundance of empty/for lease places here in Mt Gravatt.... 8)

On another note I just spoke to the manager of the Grand Central who is going to get some MT Brewing (Mount Tamborine) beers on tap soon too.

Will be a good change from the Squires and Matilda Bay they seem to always have, not that there is anything wrong with them I just think that guest beers make a good pub and they should be rotated often. Just my thoughts.

Agreed, variety is a bonus and I'm always keen to try a few unfamiliar ales.

MT at Platform? Cool! I liked the Yippy IPA when it was there, and I loved the MT Bitter when it was at the old Brewhouse.
No complaints with the Alpha Pale Ale though, which is my beer of cohice when I drop in. It would be good to see some of the local microbrews there.

They have Duke Pale Ale on at the moment. It's not bad either.

The last couple times I tried to stop by on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon they've been locked up tight.
Will have to try and get there for a Duke. Would be nice if they got some of that lovely Stone & Wood.

I went to the hotel international the other day in Spring Hill and they had 4 of there own Micros on tap for $4.50 a pint.

Good brews too, mid strenght, pils, wheat and dark ale.

Can't beat that price and they are good drops too.

JS Sundowner on Tap at the Platform now.

Not my favourite beer at all but not on tap in many places.

The Alpha Pale Ale is my favourite there at the moment.

No sign of any MT beers yet though.
