dex or sugar

dex or sugar

i know there will be a big debate on this topic

but i would like to know if there is much difference in the end product when using sugar or dextrose?

Well I have been only using dex for my washes as it does dissolve easier and give's a better output quality.
Down side is i can only get it from 1 oulet where i live.

For distilling there is practically no point in paying the extra for dextrose over normal caster sugar. All the yeast is doing is going to react with the sugar to make alcohol, then if you're refluxing, then you'll remove all the other tastes and impurities anyway.

Exactly, the only time using sugar over dex would be a concern would be if you were drinking the wash and to state the obvious, This is not recommended :lol:
