Re: White Rabbit
I can't really help with a recipe but I do know that the yeast in the bottle is the primary strain.
Re: White Rabbit
And its an english yeast.
Tried this recently and was very impressed.
A well balanced american brown ale.

Re: White Rabbit
Thanks for the response. The recipie is a bit bigger than i have attempted so far,& and first all extract but i am keen to give it a go. Just a couple of questions. 1) What volume boil would you do for this 2)Are the grains steeped for 20 min & 3) Is this just a rolling boil for the 90min, or should i be aiming for a certain temp.
Dont know if OT means off the topic, but on the yeast not sure what was ment by the primary strain , I do know though that the beer is brewed in open fermenters.
Cheers Crisp

Re: White Rabbit
Primary strain means that it is the same yeast used in the primary fermentation. One of the brewers of the beer has said the yeast in the bottle is also suitable for re-culturing. This means you can use the same yeast they do to get your clone even closer to the mark - only down side is you'll have to drink more of the real thing! Dunno if not brewing in an open fermenter changes how the yeast behaves but he didn't raise this issue so I'd assume closing her up as usual would be the best course of action.
Re: White Rabbit
Cheers Bum, Dont know if I could handle drinking more of it though, could be hard.
seriously though iv done a lot of reading to do with re-culturing havnt quite got my head around it though. Might be time to bight the bullet.
