PLEASE - is there any chance of getting the cheese and bacon damper recipe / cooking method ?
I mean in simple terms for a first timer. i'll go and buy a camp oven just to make that one.
every time i look at that bloody damper picture i get hungry...
oops, done it again, talked about it and now i'm starving...
Ha ha, its actually a better picture of the grass than the damper. The recipe is from one of those Thommo books. I'll try to bring the recipe and run through the method.
I see your getting good use out of your camper! looks like a great trip you had over Easter too.
We have been offered a camper from my uncle, its an older gullwing style that the tent attaches to the side .. I havent picked it up as yet although will post some pics when i do hopefully within a week or too
Yep, 1 trip down with it. We were planning on going somewhere this weekend but have put it off until next weekend now. Only an hour away on some common land. If it works out we will be heading there quite regularly as other places are at least 2 hours away. You would imagine living in the whitsundays that we would be spoiled for camping places but most national parks are either inaccessible or islands.
Looking forward to seeing some photos of your 'new' camper. Welcome back
I would have assumed you'd be ruined by the amount of choices for camp spots, although i guess you cant float a camper.
The used camper we are getting will need some severe mods to it, i plan to change the lights over the led, update the suspension and change the hubs over from 5 to 6 stud. The fridge and stove will also need updating although the missus's work will assist there.
I've browsed some magazines at the newsagent .. the ones from a well known 4wd mag are average at best so I'll be glad to check out your suggestion.
Standard hitch on this one
Yep, in my enthusiasm I have been buying Camper Trailer Touring Aust which is the one you have seen. Since finding the myswag forum I've come to realize the magazine is quite average and pushes sponsors products like the projecta dc-dc charger (if you read the magazine this seems to be the only option for charging a dual battery). Anyway, a little like this forum and others like it, I'll learn much more from it than overpriced magazines.
Except for the $$$ an a standard hitch is easily fixed, could be as easy as bolts.
