What are you drinking now?
Re: What are you drinking now?
I always miss out on the fun stuff around here.

Re: What are you drinking now?
Nah. It wasn't that fun. Only one of my responses has gone missing and I assume that was only because it would look weird sitting there without the comment it was in response to. A couple of speedie's have gone and a bunch have been merged. Pretty dull, unmotivated stuff really.
I do apologise to the mods if anything I might have said seemed in appropriate but I do think I was behaving myself pretty well really.

Re: What are you drinking now?
That is what happens when people post when drunk.
I try and avoid the computer when I've had a few and the normal inbuilt moderation seems to go on strike long before i lose the ability to type.
Anyway, to drag this thread back on topic, kicking and screaming, i am drooling thinking about the beer i am going to drink tonight.
I am at the point with my Landlord known as the never ending keg, when you think you are about to pour your last pint and 5 pints later you are drunk and still convinced it will only be 1 more pint.
Also have a similar story with my light amber ale.
The oatmeal stout i kegged last weekend looks like it will get a working over this weekend since its going to be a cold one.

Re: What are you drinking now?
Got a brown ale from a NZ brewery and maybe another of Baird Beer's offerings for tonight, myself. Or perhaps a Mikkeller Big Bad Worse Barleywine? Hmmm...it is a rough life.

*Off topic* I always seem to put in the winning bid on eBay when I type under the influence.drsmurto wrote:I try and avoid the computer when I've had a few ...
Back on topic. I am counting down the minutes to beer o'clock. Probably some JSAA's at the local, dinner & bevvies with my PT group.
Re: What are you drinking now?
I think that at this stage on a Friday afternoon everybody is counting down to beer o'clock. I've got a couple of English Bitters to try this evening, one of them made by Prince Charles' company. Looking forward to it

Re: What are you drinking now?
Just finished a 3 Horses lager. Imported from Holland, and cheap at $2.50 (less in a sixer)for a 330 mil bottle.
Ingredients are said to be Barley, Maize, Water, and Hops (not Isohops etc).
Quite a nice clean malty brew, with some recognisable noble hop flavour, in a Dutch lager style.
All it lacks is crispness.
Now I've just poured myself one my own IPAs. Aroma, colour, flavour, hoppiness, and nice bitterness in abundance. It really beats most store bought stuff hands down, even if I say so myself.

Re: What are you drinking now?
Have gone from left to right on the taps tonight.
But once you pour a pint of stout there is no going back, its the black stuff for the rest of the night
If i must.
Cheers and stout beers

Re: What are you drinking now?
Urgh. Just finished a brown ale from some NZ brewery called 8 Wires. It was pretty repugnant. Smelled a bit like white wine and tasted a bit like red wine and was so astringent my mouth now feels like I've been eating something abrasive. Terrible.
Re: What are you drinking now?
dr did you try ruddles county or adnams wile in the uk both hoppy stuff!
Re: What are you drinking now?
Drinking my own brews in full swing, mixing them up as I go.
Partial with Munich as base, Perle & lots of Amarillo, beautiful.
AG Smurtos golden ale, amarillo again, good- wish i did better. Stupid newbie mistake, didn't realise it wasn't crushed, still tastes great and near 5% though.
Coopers Amarillo Ale, drinking K&B now now as I'm 8-9 longies in after a day of footy and chores. How's the spelling?
Can you tell I like Amarillo?
I hope I like Simcoe as well as I have gone nuts with that lately too, with Amarillo of course.
Cheers

Nor is period a suitable replacement for full stop!Bum wrote:*ahem*emoticons aren't suitable replacements for periods*ahem*

Re: What are you drinking now?
Dunno about about you but a period always screams stop to me.
Too blue?
But yeah it is.

Re: What are you drinking now?
Ran up a cracking thirst at the Lake MacQuarie Half Marathon this morning. I'm quenching it with a Coopers Pale Ale.
Re: What are you drinking now?
Can't beat a Coopers Pale Ale when going commercial to quench a hard earned thirst.
Cheers

Re: What are you drinking now?
Had that Prince Charles' drop the other night (his company is Duchy Originals.) Was an English Bitter and the whole time I was drinking it I kept thinking 'hmm, this tastes like a slightly tamer version of Bombardier.' Well, turns out I also had a Bombardier in the fridge so I followed His Royal Highness' brew with one of those and I was right. I think they use the exact same hops but the Bombardier has a few more IBU's. Not saying that the sauerkraut-munching Prince of Wales' beer is bad, but I'd not shell out the few extra dollars for it (it's organic, y'see) if there was a Bombardier on offer.
Sipping on my second ever AG brew at current. It's a golden ale and it's lovely. Since converting to the dark side I've been so surprised at how clear my beer is. I'm not doing anything different (I only cold-crash for 4 days, no fining, polyclaring, etc.) and both batches that are currently on tap are clear enough to read a newspaper through. Loving it!
