I have jusy bottled my 15th brew and have used nothing but Fourex or Carlton Mid twist tops. I have not to date had a failure.
I don"t use a bench capper - just screw them on by hand (sometimes with the aid of a rubber hammer!). I use mainly 750ml bottles but have bottled 2 brews of stubbies as well.
Cheers and good health,

Capping twist top stubbies
I've scored a few hundred bottle caps from the home brew store at 4 dollars a pack that claim to be duo type.I use the ordinary coopers bottle caps for the crown seal bottles and these duo caps for the twist tops and have never had a problem with them.Am using an ordinary bench capper to do this.

Gidday fellow brewers You may all say I am doing the wrong thing but I have been re-using twist tops over and over for many years now. I gently screw them on straight, then give them a little nip up to tighten, then leave them for 2 months. The final brewing in bottle creates pressure which in turn seals the stubbies so tight we need a monky wtrench to get them off, So far we have not had one that has been flat.
Yes I know new caps are dirt cheap but I do not have a capper.
My philosphy is " if it works dont try to fix it"
