......i think this guy Boozer is really pushing his own barrow, and as a newbie needs to pull his head in a tad.

Nice post from him, if it was from a long time regular. But this guy is a new poster. Shooting from the hip, and big noting himself. Enough said i think.
Oh really sorry Paleman................my 66 posts don't give me the same priveledges as your 140 - odd posts?

Big noting myself?? Get a grip! The point of my posts was that alcohol is a recreational drug.

r.magnay, I couldn't give a flying f#%k what you think of me, but at least I'm not a NT banjo playing dickhead!!!

'Nuff said, lets get back to the homebrew posts...............

I assume because we all brew beer that we are all adults, so I reckon we should be able to discuss contraversial issues with out being called names.

Its threads like these that add to the value of any site I reckon- people expressing themselves, in whatever way, make the community vibrant and alive. There are limits, of course, and in my opinion its been approached here but not overstepped.

I might be fairly new here, but a check on groups.google.com tells me that I've got a couple of thousand usenet posts with my name on them. :-)

Proof of a long career as a postgraduate student (finished, gone, with no regrets).

You really are a smart arse arnt you boozer. I didnt imply in any way that new members have less privledges. In fact it is in no way my initiative to say so.

It just came across to me, as a new poster, you have been very up front and bombastic. Almost bragging and admitting to all that you grow an illegal drug.

As you mentioned, lets get on with the homebrewing......and zip your lip just a tad.

Im no prude, but this is the first time ive ever got annoyed on this fantastic site. :x

Dear Brewers-in-conflict,

I have nothing to add, but to let you know my dogs are afraid of the lock-up part of my shed after they heard a few explosions today.

They normally howl in delight to be fed, but when I went down today it was different. They whimpered.

I hope this cheers, you up.

Definately cheered me up Incider. My Blue Heeler wouldve run away like soft pussy at the sound of exploding bottles.

He's a big brave boy when theres no action, but when it comes to the crunch......he's as soft as marshmallow ! :P

Have another read of your post Paleman:
I didnt imply in any way that new members have less privledges.
So what do you call this then???
Nice post from him, if it was from a long time regular. But this guy is a new poster.
So what you've stated is that my post would have been a good one, IF I was a long time regular??
Almost bragging and admitting to all that you grow an illegal drug.

I GREW an illegal drug (past tense). It's beyond me how you see this as "bragging". Getting busted by the cops isn't anything to "brag" about

And I don't need someone like you telling me to zip my lip, thank you very much

Ok Boozer, im not perfect.

I'll admit it right here and now, that i found your initial post interesting, amusing and up front, but too forward for someone that is new to a forum. As a forum character, a little tact builds up trust.

Ok i'll accept your views, and maybe i have been far too critical. I apologise. In reality, you are probably a bloke that would be a good mate. Im definately no angel.

Lets start again. Im sorry for being so critical. A bad week for me maybe

So, I don't mean to hi-jack this thread, but... Who finds it hard to stop at one or two of your favourite beers?

<my hands up>

yeah same here chris. I can quite happily go without having a beer, but I either have to have none at all, or a few.

What, so boozer won't defend the scurrilous attack upon him (reference the 'cockhead' comment)!!!

Well I'll defend myself then. Boozer is not the smartarse. I'M the smartarse okay? Me. Now let that be the end of it.

Unless that is, someone cares to attempt to grapple that crown from me?

Funny, I can stop at one with commercial beers, but near impossible with my HB.

The defence can rest.

Boozer has no need to defend himself! For no crime has been committed!

However, we need to talk about the crux of the problem: marijuana and beer.

Beer needs hops, and pot is related. Do your sums. We LOVE opiates. We all do! Whether it be as Karl Marx described - 'religion for the masses', or 2 cans per man per day or rastas having and 'Irie" time jammin' reggae, we all love to alter our 'state' a little bit. It's great fun. Lots of it.

If someone gets all tongue tied (user of the word "cockhead"), when letting us know what he thinks about a post, we should pity him - in the style of Mr T and "pity this fool gladly" before moving to other fools for salvation.

But before we judge Boozer or that other bloke, we must look at the consequences of our optiates - Boozer turned up to court and defended himself for a dope rap. How many DUI offenders take a lawyer as they cannot take the moral high ground? Sweet FA in the Book of InCider.

But, I'll admit, Boozer was a danger to society before he went up to the beak to plead his case. It is quite probable he was at risk of ...stealing a packet of Skittles from the servo on the way to court. Munchies and all. A blight on society he must be.

So, in summary, if you like hops and like to brew beer, we're all in the right forum. If you want to graft hops onto plants of the same genus, you're a pretty smart bloke and should email the details on right now.

In anticipation,

InCider.
