8.50 a beer

Thats a bit of a reach

You must be the apple of the old mans eye after that,

I could only wish my kids may treat me that way one day

You've got to try these things once.

Whether you like the beer or not, you're not going to die wondering.

Words to live by Oliver.

Thought the Chimay was a bit much for my inexperienced palate. Although I did fancy that I could taste Christmas Cake towards the end :? Must have been the high alckyhol content messing with my senses.

I bought a 750ml Grand Reserve to share with a few friends and ended up drinking the lot myself. The other guys baulked at the high alcohol and malty "heaviness".
I love a dark beer and of course I loved this one. There is a lot happening in each sip. It's hard to describe.
The price seems expensive. (Mr Murphy, just put the price of the 750ml up another dollar this year). But it's not really a session beer. Still I've bought wine that was dearer than this and had much less happening.
Would be great for special celebrations

Went to a Newcastle restaurant the other day, had about 7 belgians on the offer, had a Leffe Tripel and a delirium, now $9-00 is a fair bit for a beer, but a bottle of wine for less than $20-00 in a restaurant is always crap, besides you're not likely to consume 5 or 6 of these suckers without either falling down or exploding1

Compared to wine, great beers are a veritable bargain! Now when does that Belgian Beer cafe open up this way..................
