Heh yeah, I watched the first couple of seasons in a couple of weeks when my housemate got the DVDs, and my girlfriend got glandular and spent 15 hours a day sleeping.

Danzar wrote:The VB Original is a great beer. Forget the name. It's a bit like a Squires Amber Ale but there's something more to it that I like.
I just gotta have my two cents on this. I bought some of this today as I remember it being good last time I had it and it seems that...

CUB has made a decent beer!?

Now I hate VB as much as the next brewster but this is very different to it imho, first thing it reminded me of was (as Danzar said) Squires Amber Ale much richer and without the chemical tang that makes me think someone dropped some the floor cleaner in my VB glass.
But now I'm even more confused than before. If this is what CUB can make, and originally made VB like, how in Gods name did they turn it into the shite we have now!!??

Had they stuck with this the world would be a much better place.

So they used malt and hops for a change. That just makes it beer- not GOOD beer.

Mmmm, Pure Blonde is chemical filth. Obviously after 249 beers tasted it was only the fifties being slipped into his back pocket that allowed him to fully understand the delicate flavours and add it to the top twenty...
Personally the Coopers Lager should be in there as an example of what an Aussie brewed lager could and should be.
VB original...drinkable at best, a bit less chemical flavouring than the green slime, but still ordinary and to my palate not well balanced.
What happened to all the German beers? Although Schofferhoefer is a great brew.
Orval, Fullers ESB where where where.
Budvar etc etc.
and if you are going to put a Japanese beer in there it has to be Sapporo!
Bit of a joke list really,
Andrew.
