Well fermentation has begun then, but I would have thought it would be lower given the brewing temps. I wouldn't worry about the taste halfway through fermentation as long as it is not really sour or offensive.

Great...I tossed another yeast innit have I buggered it?
What sort of SG should i get when finished?

IF it was th same yeast then no.

Also only bottle when you get a consistent reading a few days in a row.

Well I checked the SG again and it had only dropped to 1015.Smelt ok,
tasted bloody foul so its feeding me watermelons !
Musta had something crook innit somewhere me only cock up so far.

I think I know what went wrong
I went out after mixing the wort and forgot to pitch the yeast for about 6 hours

It's worth knowing the temp of your cold water or cooling some water so as to get an estimated wort temp close to pitching temp.
