a) to prevent chunks
b) to sterilise it
c) to add gravity to the boil (where you are adding hops)

Cascade and or Amarillo

Shall I add 15g in a 10 minute boil for flavour in a Tooheys lager with 1kg BE2 and 500gm dex?
Thinking of using a Saf lager23 yeast worth it ya reckon?

That's the one, couldn't get it anywhere except the local BS. Green can from memory and they suggested 1.5kg liquid malt. Still new at this so that is all i used but damn, taste test after three weeks and i can't wait to drink this in a few months time.

Yeah the Thomas Coopers are good, in conjunction with liquid malt you can't go wrong!

Just did a heritage lager with 1kg LDME at thier advice and it smelt great. :P
