What's a standard?
In my world a "Standard" is that 285ml "Middie"??
You're right Keg....great to see this thread turned funny.........to much serious crap in the world.
Go by my theory to relieve the pressures of the world....

There's the Evening Standard - I've never read it.
There used to be Standard Bearers - when armies carried around too many flags and stuff.
Standard petrol went away, along with Super Multigrade when Unleaded became fashionable. Not to be confused with Standard Oil which gave the Rockefellers their wealth.
EIA standards are things that design engineers ignore.

I think you will find alot of "Sarcastic bastards" (Cue Rik Mayall( Young Ones for the uneducated or just young)) on this site.
