I will check some of their fine products out. This care package is getting very large.

Coopers Vintage Ale - not stout (altho they did release a vintage stout but rumours have it they simply re-labelled the BES they had stored for 2 years!)

My favourite Aussie drop is the Temple Brewery English Special Bitter. If you're in Mebourne, you can get it from the Swords wine place at Vic Market as well as a few other distributors.

No wonder you are a fan of the goldings hop if this is your fave beer. Pity we cant get that in Adelaide but have dropped them a line to see if they have plans to distribute it here.

One thing that got me (and i am now drifting OT) is that they claim to use floor malted marris otter. We cant buy floor malted anything in this country. Either they are importing it themselves by the pallet load at great expense, even Ross suggested the prices would be ugly, or they are assuming the stuff we get here is the same as the real deal the poms have. I'd give my left (or right) aggot for some floor malted golden promise or even marris otter.......

All that aside, am always up for trying new aussie micros, they need our support!

Or maybe they malt it themselves. They're a very small operation, hand bottled etc etc. Man and wife team (I met them at the microbrewery showcase as well as at a brew demo at Grain and Grape). I bet they'd tell you where they get it from if you give them a ring.

Powells Malt in Riddles Creek use a floor-malting process, I believe. Unfortunately, their website is borked.

I've used it just once and found it took a while to get rid of a decidedly honey-like character. But it was probably me more than the malt...

Yeah I know... me either. Maybe if I was trying to build up a business from nothing it would be different. For homework, compare and contrast this wholly family owned business with one started with VC money (like Mountain Goat), with all the various implications of control, wealth generation and efficiency.
