I repeated the process with 150g LDME and 1.5l of water, also added a packet of kit yeast.

just two more questions.
When I final add the reculture yeast to my wort do I need to take into consideration any of the amount of LDME ive put in, in relation to the recipe im using. For example if the recipe calls for 500g LDME. Or has the yeast used it all up repopulating it self?
Secondly can I use the dregs from my stubbies in the future to produce the same thing?

If you pitch the entire starter, then yes, you do need to take it into account in your recipe.
However, if you chill your starter as mentioned earlier, and pour off about 90% of the unappetising beer on top, then the remaining slurry is not large, and can be ignored in your recipe calculations.

You can reuse the slurry from your stubbies in future. You should be OK to do this for several generations before it is prefereable to start again with a new yeast.

Just a quick update. My first APA and my first recultured yeast (from CPA)are coming along great. Racked it today after 10days, I normally leave a few day longer but the SG has fallen well. It had a really good hard yeast cake and seemed nice and clear. Will rack for a few more days to get those last few SG levels down and the last of the yeast and then stick it in some bottles.
