Caps lock is cruise control for cool. I'm having trouble finding a definition for 'insipering,' though. Can't even find it when I type it in text-shouting.
Had much too many of my LCBA-ish beer last night. God it's good. My stout has also mellowed wonderfully but it's really thin in body - more akin to a Munich Dunkel, in honesty, but maybe just a little too dark to perfectly fit the style.

I usually do this special ritual every christmas, new beers and get an experience. You know, no hurry, family time beers.
Well, I found a ripper! You guys will probably go yeh, been there before.
But I roooolly liked the Monteiths Black Beer! Yummoh.
Give Monteiths Doppleback a go as well. You can get it at Dan Murphy's. Each year Monteiths has a beer and wild food challenge in NZ where pubs and restaurants create food/beer matchings. I've had some very good meals this way. Its a good way to push the whole food/beer thing as well. I think Squires has had a bit of an equivalent here but it would be good to see it on a much larger scale.

Thanks Earle, I actually bought a Youngs Luxury Double Choc Stout for the game tonight. Looking forward to that one.
My own Real Ale was a pleaser earlier today, then I opened my Dark ale. This has been questionable til now, but three weeks in and yep she's a goer! The aging thing is really true.

the copper said that he'd 'been waiting all day for me to come along', I replied I got here as faaaast as I could!
My first taste of a simcoe/citra/amarillo APA (cube hops only) batch. Smells tremendous and tastes pretty great up front but I think it needs a little more time in the bottle at only two weeks. Shame, I was planning on taking this to a grand final barbie tomorrow, now I'll have to face Uncle Dan's in the morning. Urgh.
Been in bottle for approx 4 weeks
Poured into a pint and had a decent head for about 3 seconds then pretty much the head disapeared.
Tasted ok, with a hint of honey on the aftertaste and also i stuck it under the missus nose and asked what she smelt? Honey.. strange as i didnt use any..
Needs more carbing up and it will be ok for belting down a few in warmer weather
Well after rinsing about 150 500 ml bottles ready for the next batch I am consuming a Kirin first press beer
Taste is of a generic lager but given that it is main stream not a bad brew
And look at it this way the malt comes from this really isolated corner of
You guessed it west Aussie
Man we still lead the way!

Sorry for delay in my conversation but I have had too take fish out of the BBQ
A nice brace of whole whiting followed with one whole 2.5 Kg pink snapper
Plus the wife’s beautiful salad (this wasn’t in the Barbie)
So now that I have sat down again I am enjoying one of Thai lands best brews “changâ€
Not as potent as I remember in the 80s but still a really good example of European brewing in Asia
A country that doesn’t produce barley does pretty well on there merits
I love the country Asia. About as good as the countries Europe and Africa, I'd say. Anybody ever been to the continent of Austria, though? Hell of a hemisphere, that place.
Yesterday I broke my rule and stopped off to meet a mate at a pub on the way home, Bangor Tavern to be precise.
I scanned the fridge behind the bar and didnt really have anything that appealed to me.
Looking from left to right along the taps i noticed that they had coopers vintage ale ... taadaaa..
I wouldnt say it was a first quencher, as I sipped this slowly while my mate knocked down a NEW ..
It was good to taste though as i've never had any of the vintage ales.. although i need to ask is this the same as what i'd get in dan murphys and leave it to mature out for a year?
I ask because i felt like it lacked something but couldnt put my finger on it
Drsmurtos AG Golden Ale, my first real attempt. I achieved all targets (just bragging now) It's only 11 days old and now I need to lock it up in the maturing fridge and give the missus the key, seriously, it's that good.
Cheers
A hideous brown ale from 2 Metres Tall. My first and last beer from this brewery. This is the worst thing I have ever put in my mouth - and that includes that night in Mexico...
Nogne O Andhrimnir Barleywine - This beer is the winner of some homebrew comp in Norway and reproduced on a commercial scale at Nogne O. As a barleywine it is a little on the safe side but it is very tasty and actually pretty sessionable - which I'm not so sure is such a good thing at 10%.
