Both the black rock kits i've brewed have turned out good,but there yeast is a bit too aggressive for my liking so i brewed them with safale us 56.

Of the too many beers (to list) I have made and drank....

Morgans Blue Mountain Lager, Morgans master blend lager malt.
Hallertau 10g and 10 Minutes Steeping & Perle (1 min in cup of hot water)
Bottling Sugar Dextrose
Very sweet, but very tasty. (Recipe from Homebrew shop Mayfield NSW..same guy who owns Pig Iron beer)

Of the standard beers, ie Dextrose and Can, Coopers Pale Ale with temp stable at 21 degrees manages to come up trumps nine times out of 10. 250-500g Malt adds flavour, head and mouthfeel.

Morgans Draught with Hallertau teabag I tried was sensational. Sugars and malt just get a good 1 KG blend from your local.

Worst and will never try again, Gold Rush (Texas T and Draught),
and Brewiser Australian Ale. All went down the drain ....after 6 months of trying and praying that they would improve.

I haven't come across a bad kit yet, though I also can't take that leap of faith and buy a Tooheys kit. I'm not sure my faith in home brew is that strong. Certainly not in Tooheys, although I did go through an Tooheys Extra Dry phase.

Ive also never come across a bad one, ive had ones that i personally didnt like the taste of as much as some but they were still ok and just not my style, i even new a bloke in QLD a while ago who swore by the homebrand kits, he was a bit of a cheap skate but admittedly his beer was quite drinkable, still cant get myself to buy a homebrand kit though, maybe ill do one as an experiment one day

Yeh I know a guy in our neighbouring town who says the best beer he ever brewed was home brand. Again, cheapskate. I must grab one of his paradoxical "home brand pearler beers".

Steveo, how did this turn out in the end??? Or does anyone know? Did another post get started about cervezas?

I've got a Coopers and a Brewcraft Cerveza ready to go.

I stick with coopers and i enjoy the beer and don't not the cascade, it ferments a little different to other brands tho if done right it can be a nice beer. And yeh i tryed a Tooheys brand and it tasted like a Tooheys not my favourite tho it was drinkable.
