After reading about the headmaster glasses and other peoples tips I decided to experiment.
I have a dremel with a long flex shaft and round engraving/cutter tip. Very carefully I made some scratches in the bottom of one of my glasses.

Man what a difference, my beer now holds a head. I probably put a few too many scratches because by the time I get to the bottom of the glass, the beer is starting to taste flat. The solution is make less scratch marks or drink faster.

one of those dimpled glass mugs - holds a pint though, real men only drink pints & all that.

I just drink straight from the longneck... :) unless I'm at a party etc then I just use an everday schooner donated by the local pub.
