Boonie,
There are easy ways to avoid this annoyance.
Check out this thread:

All major browsers (Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer (as of v7)) now support tabbed browsing. You just hold down the Ctrl key when you click a link and the page opens in a new tab, meaning you don't have to hit back all the time.
Even if you're on an older version of Internet Explorer, holding down the Shift key while clicking a link opens it in a new window (as opposed to a new tab as with Ctrl+click in newer browsers).
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Oliver
Thanks for the tip Oliver, it works great.
I thought Windows was called "Windows" because every time I use it, I want to throw it through the Window

I'm loving this, Keg. Thanks for the tip.
Another tip if using Firefox. When filling out forms (such as when typing in a message on this forum), you can now have it spell check as you type. Misspelt words are underlined, a little like in MS Word.
You have to install a dictionary before you can begin using this feature.
There's a list of available dictionaries here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:3
The dictionary I use is the Australian English dictionary that you can install for Firefox by clicking this link:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... +zm+tb.xpi
Get on it!
Cheers,
Oliver
(I just noticed that Firefox isn't in the dictionary!)

it's definitely my favourite feature when it comes to tabbed browsers. it'll work on a lot of laptops too (especially those with a Synaptics touchpad and the Synaptics software installed) by tapping both buttons (left and right) at once.
